Houston is looking to keep their Conference USA West title hopes alive against division-leading Tulsa.

The Houston Cougars head in to their Saturday match up with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane with an upset on their mind. The Cougars trail the Conference USA West-leading Golden Hurricane by two games and will need the win to have any hope of playing in the Conference USA title game next month.

Sophomore quarterback David Piland has thrown for 16 touchdowns and will most likely eclipse 3,000 yards by the time this game is over. Houston is coming off a 48-28 loss to the East Carolina Pirates that put the Cougars below .500 on the season and 3-2 in conference play, tied for second place with the SMU Mustangs and two games back of Tulsa.

Tulsa's conference play has been stellar this season. The Golden Hurricane are 7-2 overall and 5-0 in conference, with their lone losses coming to big -conference teams Arkansas and Iowa State. Tulsa's junior running back Je'Terian Douglas is rushing for 7.7 yards per carry for a ground game that ranks 15th in the nation with over 230 yards per game.

Game time/TV channel: 4 p.m. CT, CBS Sports

Point spread: Tulsa by 2.5
