Brian Ching's goal gave the Houston Dynamo a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union and a 3-1 advantage on aggregate, moving Houston to the Eastern Conference Finals against Sporting Kansas City Livestrong Sporting Park this Sunday. Ching's goal came during first half stoppage time, with an assist from Brad Davis, earning his league-leading 16th assist of the year.
Despite having a goals advantage thanks to a 2-1 win over the Union in Game One, the Dynamo were focused not on maintaining a lead, but earning a second win:
"We talked about it and obviously they were behind and they were going to try to come out for a push," Houston Coach Dominic Kinnear said. "From the very get-go, we said we couldn't sit on this lead, we had to try and go out and try and increase it and if not, just make sure the other team knows that you are not just going to sit back and try and play."
Kansas City is the last team to beat Houston, on September 10. The Dynamo are currently on an eight game unbeaten streak, including six wins
