Dynamo Defender Andre Hainault Named To MLS Team Of The Week

Houston Dynamo defender and all-around-hard man, Andre Hainault was named to the Major League Soccer Team Of The Week (Gameweek 9) for his spectacular display against Real Salt Lake last weekend.

Hainault has been a force to be reckoned with this season, featuring in all 900 minutes of Houston's 2011 season and managing to not pick up a single yellow (or red card).  The Canadian defender's performance this season has been phenomenal, and the red-headed-hard man has led the Dynamo defense while either pairing with Bobby Boswell in the center of the back line, or filling in at left (or right) back as needed.

Dynamo left back, Corey Ashe, was named as an Honorable Mention for Week 9.

The rest of the Team of the Week included Kevin Hartman (FC Dallas), George John (FC Dallas), Mamadou "Footy" Danso (Portland Timbers), Ryan Johnson (San Jose Earthquakes), Nick LaBrocca (Chivas USA), Alvaro Fernandez (Seattle Sounders), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Justin Braun (Chivas USA), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes), and Fabian Castillo (FC Dallas).

The Dynamo have now had five players who have received Team of the Week honors.  That group includes Tally Hall (Week 2, Week 3), Bobby Boswell (Week 4), Brad Davis (Week 4, Week 5, Week 7), and Will Bruin (Week 4, Week 7).  Bruin was named Player Of the Week (Week 4) and Davis was named Player of the Month (April).

Houston's coaching staff has even gotten in on the action; Dominic Kinnear was named Manager of the Week for Week 7.
