The Columbus Crew were able to capitalize on a Bobby Boswell mistake to take a 1-0 lead with just five minutes remaining in the first half. Boswell was disposed in the middle third of the pitch by Bernardo Anor, who slotted a pass through the Dynamo defense to Andres Mendoza. Mendoza fired a low shot into the corner of the net, past the onrushing Tally Hall. The goal occurred in the 41st minute of the match.
The Houston Dynamo host the Columbus Crew Saturday night in a crucial clash for the Eastern Conference rivals. The Dynamo are coming off a 2-1 win over Chivas USA and are looking to create another (hopefully positive) streak after breaking their 7 game winless streak last weekend.
