Adam Moffat will miss the April 15 match against the Chicago Fire for a reckless tackle against Osvaldo Alonso of the Seattle Sounders
The Houston Dynamo will be thin at the midfielder position for their next game as Adam Moffat has been suspended one game for a reckless tackle against Osvaldo Alonso in the Dynamo's 2-0 loss against the Seattle Sounders. The incident occurred at the 35th minute and at the time Moffat was issued a yellow card by the official. Moffat will be out of the game against the Chicago Fire on April 15.
At the time of the play Moffat felt it was a clean tackle, but after looking at the replay he sees it was ugly:
"I've looked at it again, and it looks bad," Moffat said. "It looks way worse than I thought it did to start with during the game. During the game, the ball was there. He took a bit of a heavy touch, and I went to win it."
"I won the ball, got the ball. At the time I couldn't believe it was a free kick to be honest. You see the replay, and it's unfortunate. I went for the ball. No damage done, but obviously they're going to come in and give me a suspension for that."
Here is video of the tackle:
