The Houston Rockets claimed a 109-102 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in their fifth game of the NBA preseason on Wednesday night. The Rockets were led by a sharp night from Kevin Martin, who scored 22 points on 8-11 shooting, including 4-5 from behind the three-point line.
After holding a two-point lead at halftime, the Rockets scored 34 points in the third quarter to take command with a nine-point lead. Jeremy Lin dished 12 assists and grabbed four steals in 30 minutes of play for Houston, who moved to 3-2 on the preseason with the win.
Mike Conley led the Grizzlies in scoring with 18 points on 7-10 shooting in just 22 minutes on the floor, as Memphis is now 2-2 in the preseason. Rudy Gay had 13 points while Josh Selby added 11 in the loss.
Forwards Patrick Patterson and Carlos Delfino added 17 and 14 points a piece, while draft pick Royce White saw his first time on the floor with the Rockets. White had two assists and two rebounds in four minutes of play.
The Rockets will take a week off before playing at the New Orleans Hornets on Oct. 24.
