Despite a current two game winning streak, the Houston Rockets are still looking up at three other teams in the Southwest Division standings. Houston is three games back of the division leading San Antonio Spurs but just a half game behind the third place Memphis Grizzlies.
It is still early in the NBA season but with the lockout shortened schedule it is not too early to see teams paying attention to their playoff standing. Currently the Rockets are on the outside looking in trailing the Portland Trail Blazers by two games for the eighth and final playoff spot. The Oklahoma City Thunder lead the Western Conference with an 11-2 record.
