Forgive me if I ignore draft pick order for a minute. All I can really ask out of a GM is that each season, he adds at least one player who can tangibly contribute to the team. While Daryl Morey seems to have not gotten a ton out of Marcus Morris this season, he has found a very solid starter in Chandler Parsons.
↵Even Kobe Bryant said so after Parsons matched up with him on Tuesday. Oh, and his defense is good enough that he's now projected as a lottery pick if last year's draft was redone. High praise from some of the best in the game, no?
↵The real problem with Parsons is seeing where he's going to go. He'll never be a star in the league if he doesn't clean up his free throw shooting a bit. But, looking at his college numbers, I wonder if he can ever be a legitimate star for the Rockets.
↵Sure, he can do exactly what he's doing now and be a key piece on a championship team, but he won't be the main star or even a second-banana on that team. I just don't think his offensive game will every get to that point. He could possibly add a 3-point shot like Tom suggests over at The Dream Shake, but it's just as likely that he improves in other areas.
↵Right now, let's just enjoy where he's at and wait on what he might become in his sophomore season.
