NBA Mock Draft 2012: Tyler Zeller, Terrence Ross To The Houston Rockets

With the Houston Rockets being the only one of the three Texas NBA teams to not make the playoffs (even though for a while it seemed like all of them would), fans have to be eager about draft prospects and what the team plans to do to better its situation over the offseason.

College Hoops Journal has a new mock draft posted, and here we'll highlight the Rockets two first round draft picks.

#14. Houston Rockets: Tyler Zeller, North Carolina
Marcus Camby and Samuel Dalembert are not long-term options at center for Houston. Zeller may not be a franchise center, but he can be a quality big for years. His experience makes him a contributor from day one.

#16. Houston Rockets (via New York): Terrence Ross, Washington
Ross is one of the best shooters in this class, and Houston could use depth on the wing behind Kevin Martin. Great fit.

As for the Zeller pick, that's been the word for a little while and the point about Camby and Dalembert is true. But the Rockets have to be kicking the dirt on the prospects of landing to wrong Zeller brother.

If Ross can come in and contribute from the perimeter, give the Rockets more reliable shooting, then that pick could pay dividends.
