The New York Knicks are expected to match the four-year, $30 million offer sheet that Jeremy Lin will sign with the Houston Rockets.— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) July 5, 2012
The Rockets have been high on Lin's availability for a while, and the sides agreed to terms earlier on Thursday with a backloaded contract. But New York vowed that it would match the offer for Lin, who created a worldwide buzz for the Knicks midway through this past season.
So while Lin was able to get a sizable contract, it likely is going to be paid by New York. Although the Knicks just signed Jason Kidd, it appears they also want to hold on to "Linsanity."
