Per John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Andre Johnson will miss this week’s game (no surprise) and will go in for arthroscopic surgery on his ailing left ankle. Johnson, the lone Texans super star, battled his high left ankle sprain for much of the season before finally pulling up on it the last two weeks as the Texans faded from the playoff picture. MRI’s revealed that the ankle had gotten worse between the games against the Eagles and Ravens.
Johnson finishes the year with 86 catches for 1215 yards in 13 games, to go along with eight touchdowns. His injury shouldn’t change any plans for next year.
