After going to halftime tied, the Houston Texans scored 17 second half points to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 24-14. The victory gives the Texans a 5-3 record on the season and maintains their one game lead over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South.
The Texans captured the lead on their first possession of the second half when Joel Dreesen hauled in a seven yard touchdown pass from Matt Schaub. The Texans stretched the lead out further in the fourth quarter when Arian Foster scored on a four yard run to make the score 21-7.
The Jaguars were able to cut into the lead after they took advantage of a Ben Tate fumble. Maurice Jones-Drew capped off the seven play, 26 yard drive with a two yard touchdown plunge. However, Jacksonville couldn't get the needed stop to give themselves a shot at tying the game. Houston took over possession with 5:15 remaining and drove 59 yards for a Neil Rackers field goal with just 18 seconds remaining.
Matt Schaub threw for 220 yards and a touchdown. Arian Foster was a workhorse racking up 112 yards on 33 carries with a touchdown. Ben Tate rushed for 42 yards on five carries but had that fumble in the fourth quarter that led to the Jaguars only touchdown of the second half.

After one half of football in Houston's Reliant Stadium, the defenses have come to the forefront as the Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars are tied at 7-7.
Texans' signal caller Matt Schaub lead his offense on a 12-play, 80-yard touchdown drive on the first possession of the game. Schaub ran it in on a two-yard run, his first rushing touchdown of the season. The Texans have been diligent to give Arian Foster the ball in the first half as well, but his 14 carries for 41 yards have yet to result in a big play for Gary Kubiak's offense.
The Jaguars were able to get on the board in the second quarter after Matt Schaub fumbled the ball and Matt Roth recovered it. He then lateraled to Terrance "Pork Chop" Knighton, who then lateraled to Clint Session who ran the ball into the Texans red zone. Blaine Gabbert then found Jason Hill in the endzone to tied the game at 7-7.
The Jaguars will receive the ball in the second half.

Matt Schaub brought in the first touchdown for the Houston Texans with his feet instead of his arm as a 2-yard run from the quarterback has given the Texans an early 7-0 advantage over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Reliant Stadium.
Schaub is 5-of-7 for 89 yards passing thus far.
The bigger news of the game is on Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert, as the rookie from Missouri scrambled in the first quarter and as he gave himself up with the slide Texans' linebacker Brian Cushing closed in with a late tackle. Gabbert was replaced by backup quarterback Luke McCown for a few plays, got his ribs taped up and has returned to action.
The two Jaguars quarterbacks have combined to go 1-of-7 for just 12 yards.
