The Houston Texans have lost backup quarterback Matt Leinart for the season after breaking his collarbone in a win over Jacksonville Sunday. Leinart was subbing for starter Matt Schaub, lost for the year with a right foot injury. Now that leaves... the NFC All-Stars?
According to multiple reports, the Texans will work out two former NFL quarterbacks, 36-year-old Jake Delhomme (primarily of the Carolina Panthers) and 41-year-old Jeff Garcia (of Philadelphia and San Francisco fame). Delhomme has the most recent activity in the league - he was cut by Cleveland during training camp this season and has been working out at his home in Louisiana. Garcia was last seen in the now-defunct United Football League's Omaha Nighthawks franchise.
Rookie T.J. Yates of North Carolina will start Sunday for the Texans against Atlanta. Yates is a Marietta, Ga., native.
