The Texans brought in ex-UH defensive lineman Phillip Hunt for a workout recently, but FoxSports.com’s Adam Caplan, who has been covering the story from every angle, is now reporting that the CFL sackmaster will instead sign a three-year-deal with the Eagles. Assuming, of course, he passes his physical.
Hunt who led the CFL with 16 sacks last season, was probably being targeted by the Texans as a situational pass rusher at outside linebacker in their new 3-4 scheme. The success of Cameron Wake had a few fans quite excited about the possibility of bringing the ex-Cougar back to Houston, but instead the Texans will have to look at other solutions to their defensive depth.
