This news broke yesterday afternoon over at Rotoworld's page on the Texans, and I wanted to give a quick take on the moves.
First of all, I'm a Tim Bulman fan. He obviously doesn't blow you away when looking at a stat sheet, but I love his work ethic and high defensive motor. After his four-sack campaign back in 2008, Bulman hasn't really done anything spectacular. However, I think it was more a product of the lack of playing time than anything. We're currently a little thin at defensive end, and I think bringing back Bulman provides some much-needed depth. It's tough to hate on Bulman's "balls-to-the wall" playing style, and this Battle Red Blog article echoes some of the reasons why I'm a fan of his.
In other news, CB Roc Carmichael was IR'ed because of a lingering shoulder problem that caused him to miss all of the preseason and Week 1. He was a fourth-round pick in this April's draft, and it's unfortunate that he was unable to prove himself as a rookie with the team.
