Strong Performance From Ben Tate Leads Texans Over Dolphins, 23-13

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Matt Schaub threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns, as the Houston Texans earned a 23-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Arian Foster ran for 33 yards on 10 carries before aggravating a hamstring injury. He did not appear in the second half and was spelled by Ben Tate, who made his NFL debut last Sunday in the Texans' 34-7 thumping of division rival Indianapolis.

Tate ran for 103 yards on 23 carries, while Andre Johnson had seven catches for 93 yards and a touchdown for the Texans (2-0).

Chad Henne threw for 170 yards with one touchdown and an interception on 12- of-30 passing for the Dolphins (0-2), who have lost six straight and 11 of 12 at home.

With Reggie Bush rendered ineffective -- six rushes, 18 yards -- rookie second-round pick Daniel Thomas carried the ball 18 times for 107 yards for Miami.

Brandon Marshall caught six passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Texans Strike First With Owen Daniels' TD

The Texans finally got onto the board when Matt Schaub found Owen Daniels on a 4-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. It was OD’s first touchdown of the season.

The Texans then came out and stopped the Dolphins after a long, long drive as J.J. Watt blocked the Dan Carpenter kick to keep the Dolphins off the board.

So far, it feels like the Dolphins are the ones with all the big plays, though the Texans touchdown was set up by Johnathan Joseph’s first interception as a Texan. Houston’s offense has been good but inconsistent in the early going.

Jacoby Jones, Arian Foster set up a pair of early Rackers FGs

That didn't take long. After a healthy Arian Foster proved he can run on the Dolphins front, Jacoby Jones made a great catch on a long Matt Shaub pass, that was tipped before it got to him, setting up a short Neil Rackers field goal to give Houston an early 3-0 lead.

On the Dolphins first series, Connor Barwin went right around Jake Long for a sack on Chad Henne, forcing a 3-and-out punt to Jones, who had a nice return past the 50. That set up another Houston drive culminating in a short Rackers field goal and making the score 6-0.

Foster already has eight carries for 31 yards while Jones just has the 31-yard reception. Andre Johnson has a quick two catches for 20 yards and Bryant Johnson had his first catch as a Texan, a 16-yarder. Matt Schaub is 7 of 10 passing for 84 yards.
