Jeremy Brevard-US PRESSWIRE

One top priority for the Texans this week is getting backup running back Ben Tate healthy.

The bye week for the Houston Texans came at a good time, the week off will help get backup running back Ben Tate to recover from a hamstring pull which he suffered against the Baltimore Ravens last week. Head coach Gary Kubiak said that if there was a game this week, then Tate would likely not play.

Off all of the injured players, Kubiak said that getting Tate healthy is their top priority. Tate has been hurt off and on this year, he was limited in Week 4 with a toe injury, and ended up missing the Week 5 game.

While it is still too early to tell, the team is not all that concerned about Tate's availability for the team's Week 9 game against the Buffalo Bills.

If Tate can not go against the Bills, then Justin Forsett will be backing up starter Arian Foster. So far this year, Tate has 178 rushing yards, averaging 4.1 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
