Houston Texans running back Ben Tate has a sprained toe and is an "end-of-the-week" decision for Monday night's game against the New York Jets.

The Houston Texans may have to go without their No. 2 running back when they play against the New York Jets on Monday night. Ben Tate missed Wednesday's practice with a sprained toe and he, along with wide receiver Lestar Jean are considered "end-of-the-week" decisions, as head coach Gary Kubiak put it Thursday.

Third-string running back Justin Forsett took Tate's reps Thursday and Kubiak said the Texans will evaluate Tate on Saturday. Until then, expect to see more of Forsett against the Jets' defense.

Also of note in the Houston Chronicle link, Kubiak addressed the double-duty of preparing for Tim Tebow in case he lines up in the wildcat formation. Tebow has burned the Texans before, in his first start at quarterback for Denver two years ago. But more than anything, Kubiak is concerned with what the Jets do defensively:

"This is probably the most difficult team we've had to prepare for across the board. They do a lot defensively. Rex (Ryan) gives you a lot of stuff to work on, a lot of issues you have to deal with."
