Texans vs. Bears: Houston readies for unpredictable Chicago weather

Thomas Campbell-US PRESSWIRE

The Houston Texans will meet the Chicago Bears in the marquee game of Week 10, but weather could significantly affect both offenses.

The Texans will face the Bears in Chicago on Sunday night in a primetime showdown between two of the best teams in the NFL. Many are calling it a potential Super Bowl preview, and it's clearly the marquee matchup of Week 10. The weather, however, could affect both offenses as they try to work in some nasty conditions at Soldier Field. The temperature is supposed to dive into the 40s and the forecast calls for heavy rain throughout the evening.

The weather conditions could result in plenty of turnovers, but the Texans enter the game confident that they will be able to protect the ball. Matt Schaub discussed the conditions this week (via Dale Robertson of the Houston Chronicle):

"We pride ourselves in taking care of the football, converting on third down, scoring points in the red zone and keeping the other (offense) off the field," quarterback Matt Schaub said. "The weather is going to be what the weather is. It's that way for both teams. You've just got to go play."

The Bears are one of the best teams in the league at forcing turnovers. They crushed the hopes of the Titans last week by creating six takeaways in the first half alone. As a team, the Bears lead the league with 17 fumbles forced so it will be a unique test for the Houston offense.
