NFL Mock Draft 2012: Nothing Has Changed For Texans, Still Looking At Wide Receiver

The Houston Texans have not had the most impressive off-season, having let go its best offensive lineman in Eric Winston and watched Mario Williams choose the Buffalo Bills over them. But the big splash is expected to come in the draft when the Texans select Kendall Wright from the Baylor Bears with the 26th overall pick, or at least according to the latest SB Nation NFL Mock Draft.

"Wright would be an interesting option for the Texans, who still have Andre Johnson. A very different player, Wright makes a nice complement to Johnson and tight end Owen Daniels as a vertical threat and a player explosive enough to win battles anywhere on the field. Houston's offense could be one of the league's best with a pick like this." - Ryan Van Beeber

That's been the consensus for most draft experts, given the fact that one of the Texans' major priorities this off-season (aside from paying Arian Foster and the free agency of Mario Williams), was addressing their needs at the wide receiver position. Andre Johnson missed significant time in 2011 with a hamstring injury and suddenly, Houston did not have a go-to guy in the passing game. Wright would be brought in to correct this problem.
