Texans Free Agency: Houston Re-Signs Veteran ILB Tim Dobbins

The Texans sured up the inside linebacker position when they followed up the signing of Bradie James by re-signing veteran inside linebacker Tim Dobbins, according to The Houston Chronicle.

The 29-year old Dobbins backed up starter Brian Cushing and led the team with nine special teams tackles in his first year with the Texans. He had 12 total tackles in 15 games in his sixth season in the NFL. Dobbins spent his first four seasons with the San Diego Chargers, who drafted him in the fifth round out of Iowa State in 2006. Many expect the Texans to get an outside linebacker early in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Houston is coming off its first AFC South division title and playoff appearance in the 11-year history of the club and will be looking to build consistency.
