Houston Texans Offseason 2012: DeVier Posey Becomes 7th Draft Pick To Sign

Stay connected for news and updates

The Texans sign rookie wide receiver DeVier Posey, who becomes the seventh of the eight draft picks this offseason to sign with the team. Posey was the third round pick of the Texans in the 2012 NFL Draft, taken with the 68th overall pick out of Ohio State. He ranked seventh in Ohio St. history with 136 receptions, and was eighth with 1,955 yards receiving in his four-year career for the Buckeyes.

Wide receiver is a position the Texans have been looking to shore up lately, with Andre Johnson showing signs of a star who can break down at times and Kevin Walter being a questionable option as a No. 2 receiver.

"I think he's got the ability to one day be a starter in this league," Texans wide receivers coach Larry Kirksey said of Posey. "I think he'll be able to contribute and be a starter in this league and be very efficient."
