The Texans signed veteran punter Donnie Jones early in the offseason as a free agent coming from the St. Louis Rams. Jones didn't exactly have a great season in 2011, and again, he was playing with the Rams. But he's at least impressed the Houston Chronicle's John McClain at training camp, certainly a sign of better days to come, right?

Jones' primary role this season is to replace Brett Hartmann, who is suspended for the first three games of the season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
The Texans begin their first full-pad practice around 2:15 p.m. on Monday, with the last 30 minutes indoors.
