Texans Vs. Dolphins: J.J. Watt Learned Snap Count From HBO, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

The Houston Texans didn't seem to have much of a problem with the Miami Dolphins in their 30-10 win on Sunday, and part of that may have been thanks to HBO's Hard Knocks.

Texans defensive end J.J. Watt told Pro Football Talk on the NBC Sports Network that he picked up on some of Miami's snap counts from watching the show.

Questioned on the show, Watt seemingly didn't want to initially give away his information but said the all-access show about a team's journey through training camp did indeed help him on the field on Sunday.

In a league full of coaches trying to gain an advantage by catching their opponents off-guard and keeping them guessing, it could turn out being a red flag for other franchises potentially interested in showcasing their team on the show.

From Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:

That one line could provide future coaches and G.M.'s with the ammunition they need to push back against an owner who decides he wants to be a carnival barker.
