The Rice Owls will look to play better defense on Saturday when they welcome Marshall to town for a C-USA battle.
Despite going into Lawrence, Kan., and stunning the heavily favored Kansas Jayhawks the previous week, Rice simply could not find a way to slow down a high-powered Louisiana Tech attack in last Saturday's 56-37 defeat. The Owls were gashed for a whopping 609 yards by LTU's offense in the loss, with 333 of those coming on the ground.
Currently the NCAA leader in passing yards per game at 425, Marshall enters Week 4 of the season prepared to ride the arm of sophomore quarterback Rakeem Cato as long as possible. The 6'0, 182-pound Miami, Fla., native finished 44-of-65 for 432 yards with three touchdowns in a narrow loss to Ohio last Saturday, and currently leads all of college football with 1,222 yards through the air after three games.
Game time: 2:30 p.m. CT (will not be televised)
Spread: Marshall -3.5
