2011 Bowl Projections: Houston Cougars Look To Be Liberty Bowl Bound

Stay connected for news and updates

The Houston Cougars are likely heading to the Liberty Bowl if they win Conference USA, while the Texas A&M Aggies bowl future is not as clear.

The Houston Cougars are on the undefeated path, but a BCS bowl game seems unlikely at this point as they will have a tough time climbing the polls. However, if Houston does win Conference USA they will be headed to the AutoZone LIberty bowl where they will take on a SEC team.

The Texas A&M Aggies bowl prediction is far less clear as the Big 12 is jumbled with seven teams who have one, two or three conference losses on the year. Texas A&M has two loses and three of their last four opponents are ranked in the top  25, and as of now Texas A&M is not bowl eligible as they are sitting with five wins. The lone unranked team on their schedule is the Kansas Jayhawks, so it is safe to say Texas A&M will get to the needed six wins to go bowling.

Here are the bowl projections:

AutoZone Liberty Bowl, Dec. 31, 2011

Houston Cougars vs. Mississippi St. Bulldogs

Bridgepoint Educational Holiday Bowl

Texas A&M Aggies vs. Washington Huskies.
