Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss score update: Aggies trail 10-7 after first quarter

Stay connected for news and updates

Despite getting the lead less than a minute into the game with a long touchdown run, the Texas A&M Aggies trail Ole Miss after one quarter, 10-7.

After two plays of no yardage, the Aggies got a 16-yard pass from Johnny Manziel to Mike Evans for a first down and Ben Malena did the rest, running 59 yards for a touchdown. The score gave the Aggies a 7-0 lead, but Ole Miss responded on the very next drive.

The Rebels completed a 15-play, 75-yard drive with a one-yard Jeff Scott rushing touchdown to even up the score. A few plays later the Aggies afforded Ole Miss another opportunity when Christine Michael fumbled a ball away to Mississippi's Cameron Whigham. The Rebels struggled to do anything with the chance, but managed a 46-yard Bryson Rose field goal to take a 10-7 lead.

The Aggies spoiled offensive chances on each of their next two drives, turning the ball over on downs after attempting to convert a fourth and one on the Mississippi 22-yard line and throwing an interception deep in Ole Miss territory.
