The Texas A&M Aggies' victory against Alabama kept a half-game lead on the LSU Tigers in the SEC West.

With the upset of the formerly No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide, the Texas A&M Aggies kept a step ahead of the LSU Tigers for the second-place spot in the SEC West standings. The 29-24 victory at Alabama gave the Aggies a 5-2 record in SEC play, a half-game lead on the 4-2 Tigers.

That's also a game off the Crimson Tide's 6-1 mark in the conference.

LSU's 37-17 win against Mississippi State kept them in reach of Texas A&M this week, and Mississippi State sits in the middle of the SEC West at 3-3. Meanwhile, Ole Miss and Arkansas have each gone 2-4. The Auburn Tigers are winless through seven conference games.

In the SEC East, Georgia and Florida are still battling it out for first place at 7-1. South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Missouri follow in that order. Tennessee and Kentucky are winless in SEC games at 0-6 and 0-7 respectively.
