Texas A&M and Texas could meet in the Cotton Bowl if CBS' latest bowl projections are correct.
There aren't any teams from Texas expected to be in any BCS bowls this season, but there could be a Texas-themed match-up in a lesser bowl game if CBS' latest bowl projections are correct. In this case, it would be the Texas A&M Aggies facing off against the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl, where the No. 2 team in the Big 12 meets a team from the SEC.
With Kansas State and Oregon both losing, the BCS Title game is expected to be between the Alabama Crimson Tide, who have only one loss on the season after dropping a game to Texas A&M, and the undefeated Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The other BCS bowls, as projected, will feature K-State and Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl, LSU and Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl, Florida State and Louisville in the Orange Bowl, and Nebraska and Oregon in the Rose Bowl.
Most of the smaller teams in the Houston area like the Rice Owls and Houston Cougars do not have the wins necessary to be bowl eligible.
