NFL Combine 2012: Houston LB Sammy Brown Among Snubs

Stay connected for news and updates

The Houston Cougars will have some players going to the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis at the end of February, but there is at least one deserving player from the squad who did not receive an invite and a chance to personally impress the NFL scouts and evaluators that will be in attendance.

Wes Bunting at the Nation Football Post recently posted a rundown of the top defensive snubs among NCAA players who were omitted from the Combine. Near the top of the list is Cougars outside linebacker Sammy Brown. Here is what Bunting has to say about the 6'3", 240-pound Brown.

A highly productive pass rusher who has come a long way since being a JUCO transfer. Has a feel for getting after the passer, exhibits a good burst and closing speed around the edge and is an intriguing 34-type prospect.

Hopefully Brown will still be able to draw the interest of pro teams in this year's NFL draft. He can take some solace in the fact that he is far from the only player to be snubbed by the Combine.
