2012 NCAA Women's Tournament: Texas A&M Falls To Maryland 81-74

Texas A&M couldn't hold a big first half lead and collapsed late falling 81-74 to Maryland in the Sweet 16 of the 2012 NCAA Women's Tournament.

The Aggies led 70-60 with 9:30 remaining in the game but would be out scored 21-4 by the Terrapins the rest of the way. Alexia Standish led the Aggies with 19 points and Sydney Carter added 13. Kelsey Bone added 10 points in the loss.

Laurin Mincy and Alyssa Thomas fueled the Maryland comeback scoring 21 points each. Lynetta Kizer added 15 points off the bench and Tianna Hawkins added 12 points.

Maryland advances to the Elite Eight where they will take on the winner of the game between Notre Dame and St. Bonaventure that takes place on Sunday afternoon.
