The Texas Longhorns hold the No. 6 seed heading into the 2012 Big 12 Championship. The quarterfinals for the tournament take place on Wednesday, with Texas playing their first game in the tournament against the No. 3 seed Iowa St. Cyclones. The Longhorns are hoping to write their own Cinderella story this year. They have a chance to win the conference championship and earn an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Tournament, but it will have to begin with a win tonight.
The Longhorns split home wins with the Cyclones in the regular season, falling 77-71 on Jan. 4 and picking up a 62-55 victory on Jan. 24.
Should Texas pull off the win, they will advance to the semifinals, where they will play the winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal game between the No. 2 Missouri Tigers and the No 7 Oklahoma St. Cowboys.
