Texas A&M will kick off their season on Saturday against the Florida Gators.
Texas A&M missed the game that was supposed to be their warm up for the big one against the Florida Gators when their match against Louisiana Tech got cancelled because of complications with Hurricane Isaac. Now they'll jump right into the heat of things when they face the Gators on Saturday.
It will be the first test for redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel, taking over the QB position from Ryan Tannehill. He may not be expected to throw over 3700 yards like Tannehill did in 2011, but the Aggies will need him to be strong all season long if they want to contend in the SEC.
Florida has officially named Jeff Driskel their starter for the game against the Aggies, ending what was a minor QB controversy after the Gators' lackluster 27-14 win over Bowling Green.
Game Time: 2:30 p.m. CT
TV: ESPN
Point spread: Texas A&M favored by 1½ points.
