Rockets Transactions: Rockets Waive Four, Set 15-Man Roster

The Houston Rockets have waived four players from their preseason squad in order to trim down to the 15-man roster limit mandated by the NBA.

Forwards Alexander Johnson and Mike Harris and guards Antonio Anderson and Jerel McNeal were waived by the team on Monday, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle

Point guard Ish Smith beat out the aforementioned four for the last spot on the roster. Coach Rick Adelman has referred to Smith as the "best passer on the team," and apparently prefers having three point guards on the roster as opposed to added frontcourt depth. Given Kyle Lowry's aggressiveness, it's probably a good idea.
