The news comes as obviously somewhat of a surprise though the efficacy of Bagwell's work with the team can probably be debated without much conclusiveness gained. If Bagwell's heart wasn't in the job, in the long run it could be more beneficial for the Astros to move in another direction. Look for the search for Bagwell's successor to begin immediately.
