MLB Offseason: Astros Pick Up Option On Michaels, Decline Blum

Brian McTaggart of MLB.com is reporting that the Houston Astros have officially picked up OF Jason Michaels' option for the 2011 season and have declined to do the same for utility man Geoff Blum.

Astros make it official, pick up $900,000 option on Michaels and decline option on Blum.

Michaels, 34, batted .253 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in 186 at bats. He'll be entering his third season with Houston in 2011 after stops in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

Blum, 37, hit .267 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 202 plate appearances.
