James Cleveland Hit With One Game Suspension

As if the Houston Cougars didn't have enough problems to worry about - their quarterback situation, for example - leading wide receiver James Cleveland was suspended one game on Monday, according to Steve Campbell of the Houston Chronicle.

UH receiver James Cleveland suspended for Saturday's Miss. State game for violation of team rules.

Head coach Kevin Sumlin addressed the issue with a statement to the media.

"James made a mistake, which is uncharacteristic of him. I am disappointed because up until now he has done everything we have asked of him. He is very remorseful and hopefully will use this as a learning experience and be ready to go next week."

Cleveland currently leads the Cougars all three major receiving categories with 20 receptions, 324 yards and three touchdowns. Mississippi State is coming off a victory against Alcorn State and has a record of 2-3 on the season.
