Golfing With the Astros?

I am a terrible golfer, whenever I attempt to play. I've never been any good, but I have to respect any sport where you can compete just against yourself. Curbs all my competitive instincts into self-destructiveness, which is nice.

At any rate, if you like golf, and you like the Houston Astros, might I interest you in the Houston Astros Alumni Golf Classic?

Held at the "preferred course of the Houston Astros," this tournament will pit you and yours against former Astros greats (and some other guys who were available). For the low, low price of 375 dollars, you too can golf with the stars.

Which is cool and all, I guess. Some of the corporate packages are really quite nice. However, for all the likelihood that you'll get paired up with Jim DeShaies or Jeff Bagwell, you could end up spending the morning with James Mouton. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm sure Mouton is a fine, upstanding citizen and will talk your ear off about the Astrodome. But, it's not quite as exciting as teeing off with Enos Cabell, is it?

Bonus points if you get paired up with Woody Williams and use the time to berate him constantly about tricking Tim Purpura into that contract and then sucking for its entire length. At any rate, the money goes to a good cause, so sign up if you have the means. I'm sure it'd be a one of a kind experience.
