What's On Television Today: Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010

Do you like sports? Do you like television? Do you like watching sports on television? Well have I got the deal for you... Sports (particularly of the college variety) will be occupying each and every one of your television boxes for the better part of today. If you have cable (especially with some kind of digital tier added on), you'll be good to go. If you don't? Go to someone's house who does. Or, you know, use teh Google's and find some links to view said contests. Just don't tell 'em who sent ya.

Rudy

College Football: (13) Iowa Hawkeyes @ Northwestern Wildcats -- 11 AM, ESPN -- "What's that Yankee?! I don't speak Big Ten!". Well you certainly speak upset! And if there's one team that has fringe BCS side (hello, Capital One Bowl) Iowa's number in recent history it's Nerdwestern. The Cardiac Cats have beaten Iowa in 4 of their last 5 meetings but this year's incarnation adds a special flair for blowing leads against superior opponents. Will recent history or a love to snatch losses from the jaws of victory prevail? Tune in and see!

College Football: (14) Utah Utes at Notre Dame Fighting Irish -- 1:30 PM, NBC -- Do you hate Notre Dame? Of course you do. What better time to pile on the Fighting Irish than before Brian Kelly has you really hating them in a few short years? Utah enters this game after having been completely slapped in the face by TCU a week prior and will look to take their frustrations out on hapless Notre Dame and freshman QB Tommy Rees (most Irish quarterback name or most Irish quarterback name ever?) The schadenfreude should overfloweth.

Forest Gump

College Football: Georgia Bulldogs at (2) Auburn Tigers -- 2:30 PM, CBS -- Okay, okay. So Bear Bryant rode star tailback to a national title at Auburn rival Alabama, but who's to say that Alabama booster and shrimp baron Forrest Gump also didn't try to give Cameron Newton $200,000 to play football for the Crimson Tide? Whether Newton plays or sits, the circus atmosphere is sure to be in full effect. Will Verne Lundquist's head explode after a ridiculous Newton play (or in lieu of Auburn missing his production)? There's only one way to find out.

Junction Boys

College Football: (25) Texas A&M Aggies at Baylor Bears -- 6:00 PM, FSN Houston -- Mike Sherman's Aggies head to Waco in what will essentially serve as a Top 25 ranking play-in contest. The Bears are having unprecedented success for BCS-era (or hell, modern) football where as Mike Sherman's Aggies are coming off one of their most memorable victories in sometime having just topped Oklahoma a week prior. Texas A&M has caught fire ever since benching senior Jerrod Johnson in favor of Austin, Texas product Ryan Tannehill. Baylor will continue to run the living daylight out of Robert Griffin III as they fight for bowl positioning.

College Football: Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Houston Cougars -- 7:00 PM, CBS College Sports -- If you hate defense, Todd Graham and Kevin Sumlin have a little something, something cooking for you. With Case Keenum sidelined for the season and backup (and noted gold pioneer) Cotton Turner also done on the year, it'll be up to David Piland to keep the ship afloat for the Cougs. Texas Longhorns transfer G.J. Kinne will put up points in bunches for the Golden Hurricanes but the real question should be whether or not either team can actually get a stop.
