What's On Television Today: Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010

I know what you're thinking: the Rockets are struggling, the Texans are struggling, the Astros...well, I guess they still have a franchise. What can we do to lift the curse off the city of Houston? For each individual franchise, the date when things started to slip is a little different. For the Texans, one could argue that the team has never not endured struggles, for the Rockets, it has to be the date that follows the Rockets taking the first two games against the Mavericks in the 04-05 playoffs on the road, only to still lose the series. For the Astros, some might call me biased here, but I'd say it was the day they lost Carlos Beltran to the Mets.

With that in mind, here are three helpful curse-lifting solutions for the squads, ranked in order of best to worst, and some TV viewing suggestions to go under them:

Burning Dallas to the ground
College Basketball: (16) Illinois vs.(22) Texas -- ESPN2, 8 PM -- Will Rick Barnes have a halfcourt offense set up for this game? That's a rhetorical question.
College Football: UCLA @ Washington -- ESPN, 7 PM -- I'm not trying to say that Jake Locker is overrated, but Vegas is actually putting up an over/under on how many picks he'll throw to Rahim Moore.
Phoenix Suns @ Orlando Magic -- TNT, 7 PM -- Hmm...Dwight Howard versus Channing Frye...I'm going to guess Howard is going to the line 20 times tonight.

Slaying Charley Casserly
College Basketball: (4) Pittsburgh vs. Maryland -- ESPN2, 6 PM -- Gilbert Brown plays basketball now? I uh, I'd look out for dat ass in the low post.
Denver Nuggets @ Portland Trail Blazers -- TNT, 9:30 PM -- Two franchises that are getting used to disappointing things: Greg Oden injuries and Carmelo Anthony exit rumors.
The League -- FX, 9:30 PM -- I vote they name the Last Place trophy "The Casserly," but I might be biased.

↵

Booing Carlos Beltran, because that has worked out so well
Tampa Bay Lightning @ Philadephia Flyers -- NHL Network, 6 PM -- Time for Tampa to get revenge for losing that World Series. Just kidding, the over/under on Lightning fans at this game is 30.
