Much like the Silverdome in Detroit, our former football home that hosted quite a few memorable moments of sports history is sitting there mostly untouched, like the lumpy potatoes your grandma used to make.

Mark Berman over at My Fox Houston has a post up looking at some debate over the dome’s future that will be occurring on Monday:

Sources with knowledge of the process told FOX 26 Sports Wednesday three options for the future of the Reliant Astrodome will be presented at the news conference.

1) Tear it down

2) Turn the building into a planetarium which will include a floor at street level. Currently the floor is 32 feet below that.

3) Turn the building into a planetarium and include an institute for Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics or STEM.

I guess that beats selling it for $583,000.
