Luck Recommends His Replacement Come From Within

Oliver Luck has apparently made a formal recommendation to Dynamo brass to replace him when he completes his move to the athletic director post of his alma-matter West Virginia. Luck has told the team that they should name Dynamo Chief Operating Officer Chris Canetti his replacement, Fox28's Mark Berman reports.

Luck isn't the only one singing the praises of Canetti, however, with the COO having been awarded a number of accolades in recent years:

Canetti was named the MLS Executive of the Year in 2008 and has been in charge of the Dynamo's business operations since 2006.

SportsBusiness Journal honored Canetti by naming him to the puiblication's prestigious 2010 40 under 40 list.

Canetti is joined on the list by Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey.

It's hard not to imagine that a highly decorated, experienced in-house candidate such as Canetti wouldn't be the best equipped to get the Dynamo back to their 2006-2008 level of success.

As Jordan mentioned previously, Canetti's already widely expected to begin a bit of on the job training, likely soon adopting many of the day-to-day duties previously handled by Luck. This could further ease the transition of power should the Dynamo elect to heed Luck's recommendation.
