Jose Francisco Torres Is Journey's Steve Perry As RoboCop

New, 1 comment

SI's Grant Wahl moments ago revealed Bob Bradley's starting 11 for this morning's (evening in South Africa) United States Men's National Soccer Team group play clash with Slovenia. The lineup by and large remained static relative to the England match, sans one Jose Francisco Torres taking the place of former Dynamo midfielder Ricardo Clark.

This is exciting for a number of reasons, most notably Torres' resemblance to former Journey front man Steve Perry. Also, the Longview, Texas product Torres is of dual citizenship and could've elected to honor his family's heritage by suiting up for Mexico, but instead chose to stick to the land of his birth. Any win over our plucky rivals to the south is a good one in my book.

To honor America, I give you my own concoction: Jose Francisco Torres as Steve Perry as Officer Alex J. Murphy as RoboCop. The montage is scored by Huey's "Pop, Lock, & Drop It" interpolated with Perry & Journey's immortal "Faithfully" culminating with Port Arthur ambassadors UGK's collaboration with OutKast "International Player's Anthem (I Choose You)". I can think of little more patriotic.

UPDATE: The inspiration for my madness was none other than the scary talented Joseph Griffith. This masterpiece, amongst many others (George Washington on a dinosaur p0wning Bin-Laden level awesome can be found at http://www.peachstapler.com/.
