Faux Witty References Won't Save You Now: What's On Television Saturday, June 26

↵

It's that kind of morning where my mind is in a singular loop: U-S-A U-S-A U-S-A (repeat infinitely). Seeing as I've been possessed by the ghost of Thomas Jefferson, I thought I'd provide a 24-hour reprieve on making some (arguably) contrived movie reference or feign being clever by dropping some kind of allusion to the classic cinema of yesteryear. Instead, we'll remember the immortal words of George C. Scott in 'Patton' when he said, "I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a World Cup by diving for his country. He won it by making the other poor, dumb bastard dive and get carded for it for his country." At least that's how I remember it. Come on you Yanks, etc.
