The Astros have signed Ramon Vazquez to a minor league deal, in light of Manzella's injury.
↵Vazquez has already appeared in four games for the Express, and could be called up if Oswaldo Navarro continues to struggle.
↵Vazquez signed a deal with the Pirates for $2 million, but was released April 8.
↵Why the Astros made this move, I'm not too sure. Vazquez is a career .250 hitter and is approaching age 33. But then again, our other shortstop is Geoff Blum, a 37 year old, .240 career hitter.
