How Did You Celebrate Anthony Rendon Day?

Did you have a barbeque? Did you sing songs of his greatness? What exactly did you do to honor Anthony Rendon on his historic day?

What's that? You hadn't heard that Tuesday, June 29th was officially named Anthony Rendon Day by Houston mayor Annise Parker? Can I be more shocked? Can I use any more question marks?

The honor was bestowed on Rendon after he was unanimously named the College Baseball Player of the Year after his sophomore season at Rice. With great defense at third and a big-league bat, Rendon has positioned himself as the next first overall pick in 2011.

Astros fans, start hoping that next June, Houston will celebrate another Rendon Day, when he officially becomes a member of the organization. Of course, that means the good guys have to lose a lot of games between now and then. They are currently seven games back of Baltimore for the worst record in the league and have seven teams in between them and the cellar. That's a lot of teams to out-suck in order to get to win the Rendon Sweepstakes. I have faith in them, though. They can do it!
