First, it was Bud Norris. Then it was Tommy Manzella and Felipe Paulino. Now, right-handed relief pitcher Jeff Fulchino has become the latest victim of the injury bug.
Fulchino has been sidelined with right elbow tendinitis. According to SI.com, Fulchino has been bothered by arm soreness for several days. The Astros have replaced Fulchino on the roster by making a call-up from Triple-A Round Rock.
To replace Fulchino on the roster, Houston purchased the contact Tuesday of right-hander Casey Daigle from Triple-A Round Rock. Daigle will join the team Wednesday.
Daigle was sent down earlier this season to make room for young prospects Jason Castro, Jason Bourgeois and Chris Johnson. He is currently 0-1 on the season with an ERA of 8.10.
