Houston, Texas: Home To First-Class Pitching

New, 1 comment

When Jameson Taillon’s name was called last night during the MLB First Year Player draft, it wasn’t the first time that a Woodlands native had been taken with an early pick. Kyle Drabek, currently a top pitching prospect for the Toronto Blue Jays and fellow alumnus of The Woodlands High School, was also a top selection, going to the Philadelphia Phillies.

We also can’t forget fellow Houstonian Roger Clemens. Or Josh Beckett. Or Scott Kazmir. Or Jeff Niemann. Etc.

In other words, if you’re a Houstonian, pick up a baseball and give pitching a shot, just for kicks.
