Tate Third In Early Offensive ROY Odds

According to Chad Millman at ESPN Insider, Houston Texans RB Ben Tate is coming in at 6:1 in Vegas to win Offensive Rookie Of The Year, behind only Ryan Mathews and Dez Bryant. Pretty good odds for a guy who doesn't even have a starting gig yet, eh?

Staley says: Another running back, so he gets some preferential treatment when it comes to the odds. A lot of this depends on Steve Slaton. Will he play like he did as a rookie, or will his sophomore slump continue? There's a good chance Tate could end up the starter.

I'd save my money if I were a gambling man. As Steph Stradley has guesstimated, I reckon you'll see Arian Foster at least start the year as the running back. You might not have to start every game to be a OROY candidate, but you probably need less competition than Tate does. Which isn't to say that he couldn't go on a rampage as soon as he does get to start, just, I dunno about 6:1.
