You may remember a post earlier this week when a certain Yahoo! sports writer ranked the Houston Texans secondary dead last, saying that Brice McCain was the projected starter at cornerback when, in fact, that has never been the case. Well, if my strong rebuttal of those words wasn't enough for you, the very busy Nick Scurfield at the mothership wrote up a cornerback preview for the team and there are some very telling Gary Kubiak quotes on Jackson:
↵↵↵Jackson, drafted 20th overall out of Alabama, lined up as a starter beginning with the Texans' first practice this offseason and met the team's expectations as a polished, NFL-ready player.
↵"(He) has been exceptional," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "He's everything we thought he would be, well-coached coming from Nick (Saban) at Alabama. He has been a starter since the day he got off the plane here in Houston, and he will be a big-time contributor... He's been excellent."
↵
He then added, "Jason Cole Jason Cole Jason Cole," probably so that Cole could see the light when doing a vanity Google search for himself.
↵The Texans will enter into contract negotiations with Jackson today, according to FS Houston. We'll keep you up to date here if any news on that breaks.
